 AS SENIOR TAX PARTNER IN WASHINGTON
 NEW YORK, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson announced today that Kenneth W. Gideon, former Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy, U.S. Treasury Department, has rejoined the firm as a senior tax partner in Fried Frank's Washington office.
 Gideon left Fried Frank in 1989 to join the Treasury Department. From 1986 to 1989, Gideon was a Fried Frank tax partner in Washington engaged in a wide-ranging tax practice encompassing corporate and partnership tax issues, exempt organizations, legislation and litigation.
 Before joining Fried Frank in 1986, Gideon practiced law in Houston and Washington and, from 1981 to 1983, served as chief counsel for the Internal Revenue Service.

 Gideon graduated from Harvard College in 1968 and Yale Law School in 1971. He is a member of the bars of the Supreme Court of the United States, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, United States District Court for the District of Columbia, United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, United States Tax Court, Supreme Court of Texas and District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
