KENNECOTT COMMITS TO TERYL/CALCO

 KENNECOTT COMMITS TO TERYL/CALCO
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Kennecott

Canada Inc., a division of mining giant RTZ (NYSE: RTZ), has committed to Calco Resources Inc. (Vancouver: KLC) and Teryl Resources Corp. (Vancouver: TRC) to explore their 2,530-acre Amad diamond prospect. As previously stated, Calco/Teryl's property is in the Northwest Territories and is contiguous on three sides and just 20 miles from Dia Met/BHP Utah's recent spectacular diamond property where 101 carats of diamonds were recently pulled from one kimberlite pipe.
Kennecott has an option to earn a 61-percent interest in the Amad Claims by paying $60,000 and spending $1,250,000 on the property by May 29, 1996; Teryl will provide 31 percent and Calco 30 percent interest, respectively.
Kennecott may earn an additional 4-percent interest by spending a further $2 million in the two-year period following May 29, 1996 -- 2 percent provided by Calco and 2 percent by Teryl, respectively.
Kennecott has agreed to commence a geophysical airborne survey this month and complete this year's assessment work on the Amad Claims. The Calco/Teryl option with Kennecott is to come into effect at Kennecott's discretion within 30 days of receipt of the geophysical data from the airborne survey which is due to be completed this month.
The excitement is due to Dia Met's shares soaring from pennies to over $15 per share on the discovery of the 50-acre diamondiferous kimberlite pipe. The grade in the bulk sample was 63 carats per 100 tons with about 25 percent being of gem quality. The find has spurred a staking frenzy by some of the world's largest mining companies including De Beers of South Africa and has drawn international attention to what may become the world's next big diamond-producing region.
