KENFIL ANNOUNCES THIRD QUARTER RESULTS

 VAN NUYS, Calif., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Kenfil Inc. (NASDAQ: KNFL) today announced financial results for the third fiscal quarter ended March 31, 1993. Revenues increased by 6.3 percent, from $44.6 million to $47.4 million, compared to the same quarter last year. Net income increased by 140 percent to $815,000, compared to $339,000 for the third quarter of the prior year. Earnings per share increased to $.15 per share, compared to $.06 per share for the third quarter of the prior year.
 Revenues for the nine months ended March 31, 1993, increased 6.8 percent to $137.2 million, compared to $128.5 million for the nine months ended March 31, 1992. Net income increased 103 percent to $1,748,000 from $860,000 and net income per share increased to $.38 from $.11 for the prior year. On a pro forma basis (assuming the conversion of the preferred stock to common and the elimination of the equity put obligation), earnings per share increased to $.40 per share for this nine-month period, compared to $.22 per share for the nine-month period of the prior year.
 The company completed its initial public offering on Feb. 4, 1993, selling 2,500,000 shares at $7.00 per share, and sold an additional 50,000 shares pursuant to a partial exercise of the underwriting group's over-allotment option on March 4, 1993.
 Kenfil is the largest distributor (based on sales) in the United States that focuses predominantly on microcomputer software and carries more than 3,500 personal computer software titles from more than 230 software publishers for sale to approximately 1,100 resellers.
