KEITH D. HOUK NAMED VICE PRESIDENT - USAIR EXPRESS DIVISION
ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Keith D. Houk, 44, of Dayton, Ohio, has been named vice president of the USAir Express Division of USAir Group (NYSE: U), effective March 2.
He will be based at USAir Group's Arlington headquarters and will replace Gordon Linkon, who was recently named president and CEO of the new USAir Shuttle.
Houk currently serves as president and CEO of Jetstream International of Dayton, a wholly owned subsidiary of USAir Group. In addition to his new duties, he will continue his responsibilities at Jetstream until a replacement is named.
A former military aviator with the United States Air Force, Houk began his career in commercial aviation in 1975 as vice president/director of operations for Fischer Brothers Aviation. In 1986 he became president, chief operating officer and a director of StatesWest Airlines of Phoenix. He assumed his present position with Jetstream International at Dayton in December 1988.
Since Houk came to Jetstream, the carrier has focused on expanding its operations in the Midwest and has added a larger aircraft type, the 28-passenger Embraer Brasilia, to its fleet of 19-passenger Jetstream 31 aircraft. On March 2, Jetstream will begin its first international service from Dayton to Toronto.
