KCCS Chooses iCan Provider Suite for New, State-of-the-Art Wireless Data Centers.

KCCS Becomes First Japanese Customer to Meter, Manage and Provision

Offerings Using iCan's Service Management Solution

ORLANDO, Fla., July 10 /PRNewswire/ --

CA WORLD -- iCan SP, Inc., a Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE: CA) subsidiary specializing in service management software for the service provider (xSP) market, today announced that Kyocera Communication Systems Co., Ltd (KCCS), a leading provider of information communication services, has chosen the iCan Provider Suite as the service management solution for its new, state-of-the-art wireless data centers.

The data centers will deliver a ready-for-market platform that will aggregate such core functionality as wireless data delivery, email and messaging, electronic account settlement, remote printing services and data backup. Individual services for particular business or industry requirements will be fully addressed through Application Service Provider (ASP) partners. These wireless data centers will also serve as a forum for collaboration among diverse ASPs and other wireless service providers, enabling them to leverage each other's offerings to craft targeted service bundles tailored to specific market segments.

KCCS will deploy the iCan Provider Suite to meter, provision, bill and manage service levels for the full spectrum of its data center offerings. The iCan Provider Suite is the first complete service management solution to enable xSP business operations. The suite became generally available last month and KCCS is iCan's first Japanese customer. KCCS plans to localize and resell iCan products in Japan.

"Our D@TA Center will offer the most complete range of high-performance mobile services, using the most advanced wireless communications and information processing technology currently available," said Mr. Hiroshi Kitamura managing director, KCCS. "It was only fitting then, when it came time to select a service management platform, that KCCS chose the iCan solution, which is the most advanced and sophisticated set of business tools for service providers available today."

"KCCS is creating a model for mobile service delivery that will raise standards and open new markets worldwide," said iCan CEO, Nancy Li. "By deploying the iCan Provider Suite, KCCS will be able to offer a correspondingly high level of customer service and flexibility in a highly cost-effective manner. We are delighted to have KCCS as our first Japanese customer."

The iCan Provider Suite was designed from the ground up to meet the needs of a broad array of service providers, including corporate IT departments that function as Internal Corporate Service Providers (ICSPs). Using the software, xSPs and ICSPs can easily create new services, monitor and enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and drastically reduce their operating costs. Components of the iCan Provider Suite include:

-- iCan Meter - which KCCS will use to track customer resource and

content usage, as well as service performance, across Internet

domains. iCan Meter will also facilitate report generation by usage,

account or individual user.

-- iCan Assure - which will enable KCCS to define and measure service-

level objectives and to create new service offerings without

additional coding. iCan Assure will also let KCCS monitor and enforce

SLAs.

-- iCan Bill - which allows KCCS to create multiple rate plans tailored

to a wide range of customer requirements. Using iCan Bill, KCCS will

be able to charge customers based on service content and usage, while

customizing invoices to match customer preferences.

-- iCan Provision - which lets KCCS automate service provisioning and

offer customer self-service. Using iCan Provision, KCCS will be able

to keep its administrative costs to a minimum while ensuring high

levels of customer satisfaction.

The iCan Provider Suite also includes iCan View, which allows service providers and IT departments to create a service catalog and manage various groups of users as separate accounts. Administrators and users share a common interface from which they can access services and view account data. The web- based interface supports extensive personalization and provides simplified data presentation and analysis, while reducing administrative overhead. A soon to be released version of iCan View will support the micro-browsers used by handheld devices in a mobile environment.
