 KAUFMAN AND BROAD APPOINTS LISA KALMBACH PRESIDENT
 OF SOUTH BAY DIVISION
 FREMONT, Calif., April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaufman and Broad Home Corp. (NYSE: KBH) today announced that Lisa Grubbs Kalmbach has been promoted to president of Kaufman and Broad-South Bay Inc., its Fremont- based home building division.
 Kalmbach replaces Roger Menard, who was promoted to executive vice president of the corporation and president of California Operations.
 Kalmbach has served as the division's vice president of sales and marketing since 1989. She will now be responsible for overseeing all divisional operations, including land acquisition and development, construction, purchasing, customer service, sales and marketing.
 The South Bay division is responsible for building a range of new attached and detached single-family communities, primarily in Alameda and Santa Clara counties. Recently, the division expanded to Windsor in Sonoma County and Hollister in San Benito County, and will soon launch new home communities in those areas.
 Among other achievements, the South Bay division was responsible for building the best-selling new home community in all of Northern California during 1991, California Maison in San Jose, Calif. Several of the division's new home communities have earned top industry honors in recent years, including both the Gold Nugget and MAME awards.
 Prior to joining the South Bay division, Kalmbach was vice president of sales and marketing for the company's Inland Empire division. She first joined Kaufman and Broad in 1983 in the corporate marketing department, and served as director of marketing from 1986 to 1988. Before joining Kaufman and Broad, Kalmbach was a market research analyst with a San Diego-based real estate research and marketing firm.
 Kalmbach earned her bachelor of science degree in social ecology with an emphasis in urban planning from the University of California, Irvine in 1981. She is a member of the Institute of Residential Marketing.
 Los Angeles-based Kaufman and Broad is the largest producer of single-family housing in California and the largest builder in metropolitan Paris, where the company develops commercial office properties and a variety of residential investment properties in addition to single-family homes.
