BOURNEMOUTH 1

NOTTS COUNTY 2

KASPER SCHMEICHEL turned from goalkeeper to goal provider as County came from behind to book a place in round three.

Schmeichel (inset) saved Sammy Igoe's header in the 58th minute before launching a long ball that was collected by Craig Westcarr, who slotted in the winner.

Brett Pitman had earlier given the Cherries a 38th minute lead with his 12th of the season, only for Lee Hughes to bring up his dozen for the campaign four minutes after the break.

Igoe had two early chances for the home side before Johnnie Jackson's effort for County forced a good block out of Anton Robinson.

Pitman then burst onto Alan Connell's ball to score but Hughes cancelled that out in the 49th minute when he got on the end of Matt Ritchie's centre.

Pitman then forced a save out of Schmeichel while Igoe also worked the keeper, only for his effort to directly lead to Westcarr's goal.

The striker's first goal for a month helped County assume a position of strength and they saw further chances come their way through Ben Davies and Westcarr.

Schmeichel then saved well from Lee Bradbury to make sure of the win.
