KASB account holders requests SBP for providing relief to them.
PESHAWAR -- The account holders of KASB bank have requested the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to provide them relief by allowing transaction of their amount deposited in the bank.
They also requested the central bank to resolve the issue with KASB bank at the earliest in the better interest of account holders whose hard earned life savings are stuck leaving them in a state of uncertainty and mental stress.
It merits a mention here that State Bank of Pakistan had placed a moratorium on KASB Bank for a period of six months with effect from November 14, 2014, suspending payment of certain debts and obligations from the bank.
The decision was taken due to financial health and other circumstance of KASB Bank, as reported in the press.
The SBP had advised KASB Bank to continue making payments of up to Rs300,000 to its account holders.
However, the account holders, especially businessmen, are facing sever financial crisis as their saving is stuck and could not continue business.
A number of account holders while talking with press said the SBP should resolve the issue as they (depositors) are the most sufferer of the decision. Even those who can withdraw upto Rs. 300,000 are also in a state of confusion of maintaining the account with KASB or shifting to other banks.
Apart from businessmen, other account holders who deposited their life saving are extremely concerned about its safety.
