 KAREN M. BOHN ELECTED TO BOARD OF PIPER JAFFRAY
 MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Karen M. Bohn, chief


administrative officer of Piper, Jaffray & Hopwood Incorporated, was elected to the board of directors of Piper Jaffray Incorporated (NASDAQ: PIPR) at the company's annual meeting today in Denver.
 Bohn has been chief administrative officer at Piper, Jaffray & Hopwood, the company's broker-dealer subsidiary, since 1988. She is currently a managing director and chairs the company's retirement plan and corporate contributions committees. Bohn joined the firm's corporate finance department in 1976 and was elected a vice president in 1981. She served as special assistant to the management committee from 1983 to 1987, prior to being named chief administrative officer. Bohn is the 1992 chairperson of the Greater Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce.
 A native of Grand Forks, N.D., Bohn holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree from the University of North Dakota.
 Bohn and her husband, Gary Surdel, reside in Edina with their two sons Peter and Matthew.
