KANSAS CITY POWER & LIGHT REDEEMS FIRST MORTGAGE BONDS

 KANSAS CITY, Mo., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- On Feb. 26, 1993, Kansas City Power & Light Co. (NYSE: KLT) announced the redemption of all of two series of its First Mortgage Bonds, 7-1/8 percent Series due Feb. 1, 1999, in the aggregate principal amount of $26,000,000 at the rate of 101.35 percent of the principal amount and 7-5/8 percent Series due May 1, 2002, in the aggregate principal amount of $30,000,000 at the rate of 102.76 percent of the principal amount. Both First Mortgage Bonds will accrue interest to, but not including, the Redemption Date of March 31, 1993.
