KALMENSON NAMED NEW GENERAL MANAGER AT KWKW

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Effective immediately, Jim Kalmenson, vice president, Sales, KWKW (La Mexicana 1330 AM), moves up to vice president, general manager. He replaces Joe Cabrera (former vice president, general manager) who moves to Miami, where he will open Lotus Hispanic Reps new Southeastern office.
Kalmenson headed sales for KWKW for the past six years. During his tenure, KWKW became the largest single-billing Spanish radio station in the United States. He was also responsible for the successful formation and subsequent marketing of the Dodgers Spanish Radio Network. Prior to joining KWKW, he had executive sales positions at WCNN Radio (Atlanta) and the South Carolina Radio Network.
"I was fortunate and privileged to work with Joe Cabrera during this past six years. It has enabled me to understand the importance of KWKW's dedication to the Latino Community -- as exemplified by Joe Cabrera's devotion to our community affairs programming and activities. I intend to pursue these policies at least as aggressively in the future as we have in the past under Joe's leadership," said Kalmenson.
"KWKW has been a leader in Hispanic broadcasting for almost 50 years. It is one of the oldest full-time monolingual (Spanish only) stations in the U.S.," continued Kalmenson. "It is our intention to preserve this legacy of quality broadcasting for the Hispanic community -- to inform, to educate, to entertain and most importantly, to help our listeners achieve a better way of life in the U.S.," said Kalmenson.
