 KAISER NAMED PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF ENSECO
 CORNING, N.Y., May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) said it has named James G. Kaiser, 49, as president and chief executive officer of its Corning Lab Services Inc. unit, Enseco Incorporated, effective June 1.
 Enseco, acquired by Corning in 1989, operates a U.S. network of regional laboratories serving industry, engineering firms and government organizations with tests for environmental contaminants in soil, water and air. Enseco employs some 700 people in four geographic regions across the country.
 Kaiser joined Corning in 1968 as a sales representative, then served as a sales promotion specialist and product manager for Corning Ware cookware. He was subsequently named business planning manager for the worldwide consumer business.
 In 1977 he was appointed general sales and marketing manager for the Corning France consumer business. He returned to the United States in 1979 as manager of new business development in the Materials Department and in 1981 was named business manager of the Materials Department.
 In 1984 Kaiser was appointed vice president and general manager of the Technical Products Division. In 1986 he was named a senior vice president. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. He was awarded an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he earned a master's degree in management. He holds an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Florida A&M University.
 Kaiser is a member of the board of directors of Dow Corning Corporation, The Executive Leadership Council and Foundation, the School of Business and Industry Round Table at Florida A&M University, and the National Urban Coalition. He is a member of the board of directors of the American Institute for Managing Diversity. In the Corning, N.Y., area he served on the following boards: Corning Enterprises, the Society of Black Professionals, and Watkins Glen International.
 Corning Lab Services Inc., formed in 1990, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Corning Incorporated. Its businesses include MetPath Inc. (clinical laboratory testing for physicians and hospitals), Hazleton Corporation (biological and chemical testing for pharmaceutical, food, agricultural and chemical companies), G. H. Besselaar Associates (worldwide clinical development and marketing support of new pharmaceuticals), SciCor Inc. (laboratory testing and data management for patients in clinical trials of new drug compounds) and Enseco Incorporated (laboratory testing of soil, water and air for environmental contaminants).
