KAC keen to renew aircraft fleet.

Kuwait, 24 August: Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) stressed Monday it was keen on demanding the renewal of its aircraft fleet like other regional and international airlines because the service life of most of its planes would be over soon.

KAC said in a press release that the Cabinet had approved the renewal of its fleet and teams were formed to determine the number and specifications of needed planes.

However, the project was hindered by the National Assembly (NA), it added.

That does not mean that KAC aircrafts are worn out and do not have the ability to operate, it said.

Many companies have old planes that still operate safely because of the compliance with regular maintenance programs, it pointed out.

KAC said that its engineering department was honored by several international bodies and that it provided technical services and maintenance to more than 52 companies including Lufthansa of Germany, Air France, Singapore Airlines, United Airlines of the United States, Emirates, and Qatar Airways, in addition to the Kuwaiti Jazeera Airways and Wataniya Airways.
