 K-TRON INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVES RECORD REVENUES,
 SOLID EARNINGS FOR 1991
 PITMAN, N.J., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- K-Tron International, Inc. (NASDAQ: KTII) today reported that revenues for 1991 reached a record $81.5 million, an increase of $11.6 million, or 17 percent over 1990.
 Pre-tax earnings were $5.3 million, up $0.7 million, or 15 percent, over the prior year. Net earnings for the year were $3.7 million, or $1.23 per share, an increase of 3 percent over the 1990 earnings of $3.5 million, or $1.21 per share.
 For the fourth quarter of 1991, revenues were $21.9 million compared to $22.6 million in 1990, and net earnings for the latest quarter were $1.5 million or 49 cents per share compared to $0.8 million or 28 cents per share in 1990. Included in the 1991 fourth quarter results is approximately 15 cents per share which was recorded in connection with the company's sale to a software company of its 11 percent equity interest in that company.
 K-Tron's chairman and chief executive officer, Leo C. Beebe, said, "During the past year we have pressed forward with our aggressive growth strategies. Sales by our newly acquired Hasler subsidiary and continued growth in blender sales contributed to increased revenues and earnings despite an unfavorable change for the year in the U.S. dollar/Swiss franc exchange rate, a higher effective tax rate and recessionary conditions affecting our basic feeder business."
 Beebe added, "We continue to manage our business prudently while developing new product and global strategies in anticipation of economic improvements."
 K-Tron International, Inc., through its subsidiaries, is a major producer of gravimetric and volumetric feeders and blenders and gravimetric security systems, with facilities and customers throughout the world.
