K-C AVIATION ACQUIRES JET CHARTER OPERATIONS
 AND AVIATION PERSONNEL AGENCY
DALLAS, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- In a major move toward becoming a full-service aviation company, K-C Aviation Inc. today announced it has acquired the eastern operations of Executive Jet International (EJI), one of the largest corporate jet charter companies in the U.S. K-C Aviation has also purchased Jet Professionals, Inc. (JPI), a corporate aviation personnel agency.
K-C Aviation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kimberly-Clark Corporation and specializes in the maintenance, refurbishing and completion of corporate aircraft. K-C Aviation will form Transportation Services Division to offer its expanded services, which include charters, charter certification of client aircraft, crews, consulting and turnkey aircraft operations. The division will be headed by Richard J. Van Gemert, former director of General Services/U.S. for Xerox Corporation.
"The acquisition of the eastern operations of Executive Jet fulfills two of our company's primary goals," said Richard Emery, president of K- C Aviation. "First, it makes us more competitive by expanding the transportation services that we offer our customers. Secondly, it gives us operating bases in the northeastern U.S. where many of our customers are located. Now, K-C Aviation will be able to provide virtually every service our customers require."
Executive Jet operations that will become part of K-C Aviation are in Westfield, Mass., Islip, N.Y., and Montvale, N.J. These units have more than 25 corporate aircraft service contracts. The acquisition also gives K-C Aviation access to EJI's computer systems for flight operations and for charter sales. Not included in the acquisition are EJI's subsidiaries in Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio, and a contract agreement with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
Jet Professionals, which specializes in temporary, contract and permanent placement of flight crews and support staff, was acquired to provide highly qualified personnel to K-C Aviation and other industry users. JPI has operations in Fairfield, Conn., and a sales and support facility in Chicago.
Dallas-based K-C Aviation also owns and operates Midwest Express Airlines, a commercial carrier headquartered in Milwaukee.
