1 About This Quilt

Barb's quilt features Pinwheels in 3 different sizes. To make the Block Y's, you will need to cut your assorted prints into 36 sets of 2 matching A's.

2 Making the Units and Blocks

Refer to "Triangle-Squares" in Basic Lessons. Pair white A's and assorted A's to make 36 sets of 4 matching unit 1's.

Using the triangle-squares technique, pair white and gray B's to make 100 unit 2's. Pair white and gray C's to make 400 units 3's.

Sew 4 matching unit 1's together as shown to make a block Y. Make 36 block Y's.

Sew the unit 2's, unit 3's, and white D's together as shown to make a block Z. Make 25 block Z's.

3 Assembling the Quilt Center

Refer to the assembly diagram. Sew blocks and white dot E's as shown to make diagonal rows. Sew the rows together. Add a white dot F to each corner.

4 Quilting and Finishing Layer and baste together the backing, batting and quilt top.

Refer to the quilting placement diagram. Quilt freeform feathers and swirls across the surface of the quilt as shown.
