Juniper Networks takes on broadband project in India.

BSES Telecom, a wholly owned subsidiary of power and transmission company BSES Ltd, has selected the M160 and M20 Internet routers from IP infrastructure systems provider Juniper Networks Inc.

The routers will be utilised in BSES's Metropolitan Area Network in Mumbai, India. The deployment should, according to the company, provide around 80,000 customers with broadband access by the end of 2002.

Juniper Networks is carrying out the work with CMS Computers Ltd, a partner in India responsible for service, support and installation of routing equipment.

No financial terms were revealed.
