Juniper Networks and O'Reilly Media Team to Produce Next-Generation Networking Books.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced it is teaming with O'Reilly Media to write, produce, and publish a series of technical networking books that focus on JUNOS([R]) Software and Juniper Networks high-performance networking products and solutions. The Juniper Networks Technical Library[TM] (JNTL) is a focused effort to produce more technical networking material that is demanded by today's networking industry.

"We are so impressed with the Juniper Networks product portfolio and their ability to create compelling products that are at the cutting edge of the networking industry," said Mike Hendrickson, associate publisher at O'Reilly Media. "It is our privilege to be the publisher of the Juniper Networks Technical Library, which will be highly anticipated by our customers. We believe the knowledge it offers will push us into the next decade."

The JNTL will immediately incorporate the six books previously published between the two companies, such as the best-selling JUNOS Cookbook, JUNOS Enterprise Routing, and the ScreenOS Cookbook. New titles will be produced and released through 2012, the first of which include JUNOS Enterprise Switching and JUNOS High Availability, available in Q3 and Q4 of 2009.

Written by Juniper engineers and subject matter experts, the Juniper Networks Technical Library is for developers, administrators and users seeking in-depth knowledge on JUNOS Software and managing high-performance networks with Juniper routers, switches, security appliances and other network components. O'Reilly will promote, market and distribute the JNTL to the book retailing and technical publishing marketplace. O'Reilly will also offer it via Safari Books Online, its web-based subscription service that offers a searchable reference library of computer books.

"O'Reilly produces content that reflects its commitment to delivering information that spurs innovation," said R.K. Anand, executive vice president, Foundation Technologies at Juniper Networks. "We share the same commitment to our customers, who are always seeking new ways to enable innovation while meeting increasingly demanding and changing requirements. By teaming with O'Reilly on this in-depth series on the capabilities of JUNOS Software and Juniper products and solutions, our customers can tap into expert knowledge that can ultimately help accelerate business success."
