Juniper Networks J2300 routers deployed by Education Department of Indonesia.
Juniper Networks Inc (NASDAQ:JNPR), a developer of purpose-built IP platforms, has revealed that Juniper Networks J2300 routers have been deployed by Department Pendidikan Nasional Republik Indonesia (DIKNAS), or the Education Department of Indonesia, as part of a nationwide virtual private network (VPN) build-out.
According to the company, the J-series routers form the basis of DIKNAS' nationwide network which will provide Internet access to thousands of schools.
The network, which was deployed in late 2006, also serves database applications, video conferencing and other network applications related to the operation of Indonesia's education system.
Juniper Networks J-series routers run modular JUNOS software which offers advanced routing including support for MPLS, IPv6, QoS, and multicast, as well as security services including stateful firewall and IPSec VPN.
The DIKNAS school network is being remotely managed by PT Telkom, the largest telecomms service provider based in Indonesia, in conjunction with Juniper partner, Siemens Communications.
Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
