June taxable removals down

Total taxable removals in June were 16,937,845 barrels, a decline of 0.6 percent from last year's total of 17,043,495, according to statistics compiled by the Beer Institute. The total for the first six months of 1989 was 91,282,239 barrels or 0.5 percent below 1988's 91,773,393 barrels.

Four of the twelve states and combination groupings showed increases in June with California reporting a hefty six-percent increase to 1,884,392 barrels. Minnesota, meanwhile, reported the largest decrease in sales; a 14-percent drop-off to 408,667 barrels.
