June's imports increase 15.1%.

Malt beverage imports to the United States in June were 26.11 million gallons, a 15.1-percent increase over the corresponding figures in 1991.

Through the first half of 1992, beer shipments from abroad to the U.S. tallied 125.7 million gallons - up seven percent from 117.5 million gallons reported a year earlier.

The Netherlands realized positive shipments in June, reporting a 14.7-percent increase over last year to 7.04 million gallons. Through the first six months of 1992, Holland shipped 35.9 million gallons to America - a 2-percent rise over the corresponding period in 1991.

German imports increased 6.3 percent in the period to 2.67 million gallons from 2.5 million. All told, Germany has shown a 5.8-percent increase to 13.1 million gallons during the first half of the year as compared to a year earlier.

To our north, Canadian shipments to the U.S. were 7.2 million gallons, which was 8.4-percent higher than the 6.6 million reported in June 1991. Through the first six months of 1992, Canada has seen a 7.6-percent increase in beer shipments to the U.S. when compared to the same period in 1991.

In June, shipments from Mexico were up a whopping 44.4 percent to 5.6 million gallons from 3.9 million a year earlier. That jump helped Mexico report a shipments of 24.3 million gallons through the first half of the year - a 21.2-percent increase as compared to numbers from 1991.

In the Pacific, Australia, still feeling the effects of the production of U.s.-bound Foster's Lager in Canada, experienced a 64.5- percent drop in beer shipments to 182,500 gallons from 514,186 gallons in June 1991. Through the first six months of 1992, Australia is down 39.3 percent to 1.7 million gallons from 2.9 million a year earlier.

Japan's June exports to the U.S. were up 12.9 percent to 456,488 gallons. the island-nation's shipments experienced a 16.7-percent increase to 2.4 million gallons through the first six months of the year.
