Byline: The Register-Guard

GRADUATION will take place at 3 p.m. June 8 at Junction City High School's William Peden Field. The featured speaker at commencement will be Cindy Bandow.

A baccalaureate service will be held at 7 p.m. June 4 at King's Grace Fellowship, 48 E. 18th Ave., Junction City.

Two seniors share the title of class valedictorian: Nicole Thames and Carly Spoerl.

Nicole Thames is the daughter of Terry and Carole Thames of Junction City. She plans to study vascular technology at Oregon Institute of Technology. She competed in cross country and track, was the National Honor Society secretary and senior class vice president, and belonged to her church youth group and leadership.

Carly Spoerl is the daughter of Michael and Laura Spoerl of Junction City. She plans to study biology at the University of Oregon. Her extracurricular activities included leadership, honor roll, the student pep and rooter club, Spanish Club, Drama Club, Students Together Opposing Prejudice, JCTV and the Start Making a Reader Today program.

The class salutatorian is Orren Johnson.

Orren Johnson is the son of Jeff and Teri Johnson of Cheshire. He plans to study history at the University of Oregon and then go on to law school. He was involved in fencing, the Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Quill and Scroll and French Club, and was the editor of the Maroon and Gold Newsmagazine.
