Jumble appeal.

SCORES of people are joining forces for a jumble sale to raise money for a North East hospital.

Michelle McElrue and her family have set up the McLaing Group to generate vital funds for Newcastle Freeman hospital's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Mrs McElrue's fivemonth-old grandchild, Kieria Moore, of South Shields, was born with DiGeorge syndrome and this has resulted in multiple heart defects. As a result the youngster is spending a vast amount of time at PICU.

More than pounds 500 has already been raised by the McLaing Group, and tomorrow, a charity jumble sale is taking place at Oxclose church hall, in Washington, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm.
