Judges appointed.

In July, then-Gov. Sarah Palin appointed Patrick Hammers to serve as district court judge in Fairbanks. Hammers has been a magistrate with the state court system in Fairbanks since 1999. Michael McConahy was chosen to serve as judge in the Fairbanks Superior Court. McConahy has been an attorney in private practice in Fairbanks since 1986. Gregory Heath was appointed as a judge for the Palmer Superior Court. Heath has been a Palmer District Court judge since 2003, and previously worked as an attorney and supervisor at the Alaska Public Defender Agency in Palmer.
