Judge tentatively denies MJ's wrongful death retrial.

Washington, Jan. 9 ( ANI ): The judge who presided over the Michael Jackson wrongful-death trial last year has tentatively denied the Jackson family's request for a retrial.

The six-month-long trial ended in October with a victory for AEG Live, the concert promoter whom Jackson's mother and kids had said was responsible for the singer's death as it hired, retained or supervised the doctor convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death, CNN reported.

Katherine's lawyer had argued that the verdict form used by the jury had been faulty and that the judge had erred by refusing to let them pursue a negligence claim independent of the hiring case.

However, Los Angeles County Judge Yvette Palazuelos issued a tentative ruling that she had not erred on the verdict form, or with the dismissal of the negligence claim.

She had oral arguments on Friday, and is expected to make her final decision soon. ( ANI )
