Judge lifts banning order.

A DISTRICT judge removed a court order banning a man from contacting his partner after the couple told him they wished to have a long-distance relationship.

Nicholas Tapping, 45, was banned from seeing Louise Mabey or going to her home. The order was made after Tapping assaulted her in the early hours of August 21 at her Lockwood home.

He is now living in Blackpool and Miss Mabey yesterday asked the court to discharge his restraining order. She said she missed him and wished to rekindle the relationship.

Miss Mabey felt that the previous incident would not be repeated.

District Judge Vincent McDade removed the order.
