Jude's set to be a King's man.

HEART-THROB Jude Law (right) is to star in an adaptation of the classic political novel, All the King's Men.

The 32-year-old star will play Jack Burden, who describes the rise and fall of politician Willie Stark, from the American south.

While Stark's idealism is overcome by his lust for power, his right-hand man Burden retains it and becomes a thorn in his governor's side.

Sean Penn is in negotiations to play the role of the politician in the Pulitzer Prize-winning book, written by Robert Penn Warren in 1946.
