Joyce and Rydz make their Mark in reaching finals night; DARTS.

RYAN Joyce and Phil Borthwick contested the first final of the latest heat of the Mark Williams Memorial Competition.

Scores of 80, 180, 100,117 and a double 12 in a 13-dart leg gave Joyce the lead.

A 20-dart leg put Borthwick level and he then went ahead with a 22-dart game.

Joyce hit back with scores of 134, 97 and 105 and he took victory with 125, 100 and 134 scores.

The second final featured Callan Rydz and John Watson. A nervous start to the game saw Rydz take the lead in 22 darts.

Watson levelled in an 18-dart game, but two 100s and a 140 put Rydz ahead again.

However, Watson put a 14 -dart game together of 140, 140, 123, 74 and a double 12 to take the game to the wire . However, Rydz took the spoils with a 17-dart leg including 100 and 140 scores.

Kevin Thorburn had the highest checkout with 158.

ADAM Hunt made a good start against Gary Robson in the first final in the Ian Whillis Memorial Tournament.

Scores of 140 and 137 set up an early lead in 20 darts and he followed this with an 18-dart leg.

Robson fought back with a 16-dart finish which included 100, 100, 140 and 80 scores.

Hunt went 3-1 up with totals of 100, 140, 123 and 140 and a double 19 in a 14-dart game - 135 137 and 105 then helping him to a 16-dart winning leg.

The second final featured John Watson and Mickey Luke.

Luke took the lead in 15 darts, including 121 123 and 118 scores, and a 23-dart leg put him further ahead before Watson got back into the game with a 23-dart leg.

A 140 and a 180 brought the tie level but Watson then went into the lead before claiming victory in a nervous last leg.

CHRIS Dobey defeated his dad Gordon 9-7 in the final of the Northumberland Premier League at the White House, Ashington.

In the semi-finals, Chris Dobey had defeated Ryan Joyce 8-5 while Gordon Dobey beat Callan Rydz 8-5. WESTOE Bar were 10-7 vic-tors over Alum House in the Tavistock Italia Retro Super Darts League.

Red Hackle beat the Westoe Room 11-6S.
