Journos' shootout raises PS2,000.

A ONE-off penalty shootout at Villa Park between two Birmingham business journalists has raised a total of PS2,025 for Acorns Hospice.

Last month's shootout, between Birmingham Mail business editor Jon Griffin and former Birmingham Post business editor John Duckers, ended in a 5-5 stalemate in front of 33,000 people at half-time during Villa's clash with Manchester City.

The club hosted the charity event after Griffin and Duckers shared last year's Midlands Business Journalist of the Year award and decided to battle it out on the pitch.

Former Villa players Lee Hendrie and Riccardo Scimeca joined in the fun along with Heart FM DJ Ed James, who was goalkeeper for the night.

The shootout was supported by Barclays, who sponsored last year's Midlands Business Journalist of the Year award. A cheque was handed over to Acorns.
