Journalists attend a seminar on reporting on international criminal proceedings.

NNA - Sixteen representatives of Lebanese media organizations have attended a two-day seminar at the STL in the Netherlands. The working visit, which was organized by the Public Information and Communications Section of the Tribunal, was held on 20 and 21 January 2015. The aim of the event was to bring journalists, editors, and media officials to the STL in order to allow them to participate in seminars on the work of the Tribunal and international justice. The participants also visited the International Criminal Court as part of their two-day visit. The journalists met senior STL officials, including the four Principals, and attended the Ayyash et al trial. They also took part in sessions addressing a range of issues from the role of the media in reporting on international criminal proceedings to the STL's impact on broader themes of international justice. Among other topics, the participants heard from some fifteen speakers on victims' participation in the STL's proceedings and the admission of evidence before international criminal tribunals. =========================
