Joseph J. Kersus, 92.
Joseph was born and raised in Worcester, MA. He worked as a wool sorter for Hudson Wool and Mohair, Hudson, MA for many years. He later retired from Hillcrest Dairy in Worcester, MA. Joseph was an Army veteran and served in the China, Burma, India Theater of Operations during WW II. Joseph and his wife Albina moved to Cape Cod and then to Vero Beach, FL. Joseph moved to Wall in 2006. Joseph and his wife thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the beach and playing bridge.
Joseph was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Albina (nee Matachinskas) Kersus in 2001. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Kathleen (Dorsey) Kersus of Wall, NJ; a grandson, Matthew Kersus of Allston, MA; a sister-in-law, Ann Kokernak, Jefferson, MA; a brother-in-law, Peter Matachinkas and his wife Ann, Worcester, MA; five nieces, Rita Dattis and Frances Mattrick both of Millbury, MA; Katherine Fox, Worcester, MA; Sister Mary Ann Matachinskas, Ghana and Elaine Ritchie, Harvard, MA; two nephews, Peter A. Matachinskas, Worcester, MA and John Kokernak, Linden, VA.
Arrangements are under the direction of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan, NJ.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 6th at 10:00 AM In St. Casmir's Church, 41 Providence Street, Worcester, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the School Sisters of Notre Dame, P.O. Box 16415, St. Louis, Mo. 63125. Please indicate that the donation is for the Mary Queen of Peace School in Ghana.
