Jordan participates in Arab Parliament standing committees meeting.

The Arab Parliament's standing committees on Thursday started meetings in Damascus to discuss various regional developments.

Chairman of the Arab Parliament's Foreign, Political and National Security Affairs Committee, Muhammad Abu Hudeib stressed Jordan's condemnation of the Israeli practices in the West Bank, noting the need to stop such violations.

The meeting discussed an action plan for the upcoming two years to activate the role of the parliament, Abu Hudeib said.

The meetings also highlighted a number of issues including food security, water, desertification, means to achieve economic and industrial integration among Arab states as well as ways to promote investment in the Arab World.

The standing committees are the Foreign Affairs, Political, and National Security Committee, the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee, the Legal and Human Rights Committee, and the Social, Cultural, and Women and Youth Affairs Committee.
