Jordan elected as IGBC Vice-Chairperson.

Paris, Sept. 17 (Petra) - The UNESCO Intergovernmental Bioethics Committee (IGBC) has elected Jordan as Vice-Chairperson in its annual meeting recently held in Paris.

A press release issued on Monday from the Jordanian Embassy here said that the meeting discussed issues of bioethics, non-discrimination with respect to genetic characteristics, guarantees of individual freedom, principles governing research and the primacy of human dignity over research.

Jordan was represented in the meeting by former Minister of Higher Education Mohammad Hamdan and Vice President of Jordan University Hala Hourani Khiyami.
