Jordan : JORDAN intends to develop WADI ARABA area.

Jordan is moving forward with a large-scale plan to develop theWadi Arabrea, one of the kingdom's poorest, to give its residents job opportunities and a better standard of living.

The Wadi Araba region, which stretches from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba, came under the jurisdiction of Aqaba province but is being administered by the Jordan Valley Authority following a recent government decision.

JVA secretary general Sd Abu Hammour said, the government has been developing a master plan for the area to boost economic investment and raise its appeal to residents.

He said, the regulatory and development plan, to be executed over 3 decades, encompasses economic and agricultural development, investment and tourism.
