Join the salute for Armed Forces Day.

WAR veterans will march in honour of Britain's armed forces.

Mirfield Town Council and the Royal British Legion have organised a march through Mirfield tomorrow to mark Armed Forces Day.

The group will begin at Ings Grove Park and finish at the Mirfield Show Ground.

All are welcome to join the parade and they should meet at the park at 11am.

The parade will be led by the Corps of Drums of 868 Sqn ATC and British Legion detachments from several other areas in Kirklees.

The salute will be taken at the library by West Yorkshire Deputy Lieutenant S Hardy and the Mayor of Mirfield, Patricia Sutcliffe.

When the parade reaches the Show Ground there will be a short Drumhead service.

Afterwards at the Old Colonial there will be free hot food, a display of classic cars and military vehicles, dancing by the Wakefield City Morris men and a marching and drumming display by 868 Sqn ATC Corps of Drums. Mirfield councillor David Pinder said: "We hope as many people will join us at these events."
