TELECOMWORLDWIRE-8 August 2008-JoikuSoft to collaborate with FON(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

JoikuSoft, a mobile software development house, announced on 8 August a collaboration with FON, an on-line Wi-Fi community, which encourages members to share their home internet access with Wi-Fi users by providing specially configured routers.

FON and JoikuSoft will be releasing an exclusive version of JoikuSoft's mobile hotspot software, called FonSpot. The software allows a user to turn a mobile telephone with a wireless broadband connection into a mobile hotspot which can be used by up to 5 other devices.

Members of the community are called Foneros. The person running the FonSpot software has fully control over who can use the hotspot, and the software offers full security.

FonSpot will be made commercially available for Foneros in the third quarter of 2008.
