John J. Selig.

John J. Selig (photo), a prominent real estate broker for nearly two decades, has been appointed a vice president of Wm. A. White/Grubb & Ellis, it was announced by Noel Spillanne, chief executive officer.

A specialist in national sales and leasing, Selig has handled. the disposition of over 2 million square feet of commercial properties.

His transactions have included the sale of 222 Bloomingdale Road, a 161,000 square-foot building in White Plains, New York, to NYNEX and the sale of 47,000 square-feet of land at 711 Tenth Avenue in Manhattan. He recently leased space in Rockefeller Center to the Republic of China valued at $21.5 million.

Selig began his real estate career in 1974 at Helmsley-Spear where he served as vice president until 1990. Most recently he had been a principal at Abrams Benisch Riker.

Clients have included Goldome, Hasbro, Inc., Greyhound Corporation, and Beyer Blinder Belle.

An honors graduate of Brown University, Selig attended Harvard Law School and served in the Marine Corps Reserve.
