John Dobosiewicz.

John Dobosiewicz (Kean University chapter president), 48, served Kean in numerous capacities. He began as an adjunct in 1993 and became a full-time faculty member of the geology and meteorology department in 2001. At the time of his death on Aug. 5, 2013, Dobosiewicz was executive director of the School of General Studies. He also was in his second term on the faculty senate (after being secretary during his first) and part of the university's planning council. Dobosiewicz further had been on the curriculum and cultural committees and involved with the school's Institute of Urban Ecosystem Studies. Kean bestowed him with its presidential excellence award for service in 2008. In his spare time, Dobosiewicz coached youth soccer, basketball, baseball and softball teams and played sports with his two sons and two daughters, who survive him, as do his wife of 19 years, mother, brother and sister-in-law, another brother, and additional in-laws and their families.
