John Belt elected BOMA/NY prez.

John H.K. Belt, CPM, has been elected president of the Building Owners' and Managers' Association of Greater New York. (BOMA/NY), serving a one-year term beginning in January 1992

Belt, is president of the 58-64 40th Street Corp., which owns and operates commercial properties in die city. He has served as a director and officer of BOMA/NY for the past 11 years. Most recently, he served BOMA/NY as first vice president and represented the Association on the New York City Fire Department's Industry Advisory Board. He succeeds outgoing President Carl T. Miller, RPA.

Belt has served as a director of the Real Estate Board of New York's Management Division, which honored him as "Manager of the Year," for his work with apartment house smoke detectors and Local Law 80, which covers exterior wall maintenance. Belt also served as president of the New York chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management, which honored him with its "Outstanding Achievement" award in 1978.
