Jessica is music to the ears; Pupil of the Week.

EACH week ECHO Education salutes a pupil making the right impression inside and outside school.

Stepping into the limelight today is Jessica Moorcroft.

The 11-year-old was put forward by her impressed teachers at Kirkby's Ravenscroft Primary School.

Jessica, who lives in Kirkby, is described by her class teacher Nicky Cochrane as a "true all-rounder".

When it comes to her schoolwork she is flourishing with Mrs Cochrane noting how the dedicated pupil is "making real progress in literacy and numeracy".

She added: "Jessica goes that extra mile to learn things at home, uses her initiative and completes her homework to an excellent standard."

But aside from her schoolwork Jessica is multi-talented.

She is currently mastering the flute which she has played in assembly and she is also a Knowsley cross-country champion.

Jessica has also taken up school choir duties and has encouraged other children to sing. Mrs Cochrane added: "She has a really polite and pleasant nature and is a credit to herself."
