Jersey Films Announces It Will Develop Creative Capers Entertainment's ''Titanisphere'' as a Television Series.

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 1998--In its second deal this month with Creative Capers Entertainment Inc., developer of creative content and animation, Jersey Films announced that it has acquired the rights to produce ``Titanisphere,'' a sci-fi drama, as a television series.

Creative Capers will co-produce.

``Titanisphere'' is set in a parallel world that was nearly destroyed by its civilization's wanton use of weapons of mass destruction. In the 11th hour, the survivors declare an end to the war and unveil a new way to settle conflicts in a colossal arena they call Titanisphere.

In making the announcement, Jersey Films' principals, Danny DeVito, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher, said they intend to develop the property as a one-hour syndicated series. This will be Jersey's first dramatic series for television.

Joining Jersey in the announcement were the principals of Creative Capers Entertainment: Sue Shakespeare, Terry Shakespeare and David Molina. They said ``Titanisphere'' has been in development for the past year and that the sophisticated design of the exotic world they created had been done entirely in their animation studios in Glendale, Calif.

In the deal announced Tuesday, Jersey Films and Creative Capers agreed to share merchandising rights.

Creative Capers is also developing an interactive game based on the property, which will be produced in conjunction with the television series.

Earlier this month, Jersey Films and Creative Capers agreed to co-produce ``The Studman Brothers'' as a live-action feature film for Universal. ``Studman'' is an original film and interactive property also developed by Creative Capers.

Jersey Films is currently in production on ``Out of Sight'' for Universal, a film based on a novel by Elmore Leonard, directed by Steve Soderbergh, written by Scott Frank and starring George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez.

Jersey is in post-production on ``The Kiss'' for New Line, written and directed by Richard LaGravenese and starring Holly Hunter, DeVito and Queen Latifah.

Jersey is also in post-production on ``The Pentagon Wars'' for HBO, which is directed by Richard Benjamin and stars Kelsey Grammer and Cary Elwes.

Creative Capers Entertainment, based in Glendale, specializes in the content design and development of quality family entertainment for the film, television, interactive, toy, themed-retail and amusement industries. Since its founding in 1989, Creative Capers has become known as a leader in the animation industry and has designed and animated nearly 30 multimedia titles.

Creative Capers and its principals have contributed key concepts, design and animation to films such as ``101 Dalmatians,'' ``Thumbelina,'' ``Rover Dangerfield,'' ``The Tom and Jerry Movie,'' ``The Pagemaster,'' ``The Land Before Time'' and ``An American Tail.'' The company recently delivered the animated title sequence to ``Mr. Magoo.''

For the past several years, Creative Capers has had a close relationship with the Walt Disney Co., for which it developed eight of the top-10-selling children's animated CD-ROM titles, including ``The Hunchback of Notre Dame,'' ``Lion King Animated Story Book'' and the ``Aladdin Activity Center,'' among others.

Creative Capers also created and developed the concept for ``Nightmare Ned,'' which Disney produced as both a television series and an interactive title.
