Jerry competes with Andy Warhol.

JERRY the Troublesome Tyke will be competing with Andy Warhol at the Museum of Modern Art (Moma) in New York.

On the same day that the animated dog will be featured in the Festival of Restoration, an exhibition presenting extracts from the museum's collection of Warhol films will be displayed.

Moma is regarded as one of the world's most prestigious arts venues. Founded in 1929 as an educational institution, it is dedicated to being the foremost museum of modern art.

From an initial gift of eight prints and one drawing, the museum's permanent collection has now grown to include more than 100,000 paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, architectural models and drawings, and design objects from some of the world's most important contemporary artists.

It also presents wide-ranging touring exhibitions and educational programmes.
