M2 EQUITYBITES-February 24, 2017-Jeppesen to provide navigation services, crew solutions to Air Baltic

Jeppesen, a Boeing Company, has agreed to a new 5-year service contract with Latvian carrier Air Baltic that includes both digital Jeppesen charts and navigation services and several crew solutions that use data analytics to optimize planning and decision making, based on real-time factors, the company said.

Air Baltic will continue their digital transformation through integration of electronic Jeppesen charts, airport obstacle databases and flight management system (FMS) navigation databases for their Boeing 737 fleet. For more efficient crew operations, the airline will put Jeppesen crew pairing, rostering and boeing alertness model services into operation.

Jeppesen crew management solutions employ modeling and simulation to reveal insights that lead to better decision-making and actions. Crew pairing simplifies the process of creating efficient fleet-wide crew pair assignments, while crew rostering connects bidding and planning operations that consider crew member preferences while creating advance rosters in a single view format. Boeing alertness model tools use scientific principles to guide fatigue risk management and alertness of crew members.

Jeppesen, a Boeing subsidiary and part of the Digital Aviation business unit within Boeing Commercial Aviation Services, delivers transformative information and optimization solutions to improve the efficiency of air operations around the globe.

Boeing, together with its subsidiaries, designs, develops, manufactures, sells, services, and supports commercial jetliners, military aircraft, satellites, missile defense, human space flight, and launch systems and services worldwide.
