Jeppesen, a part of Boeing Commercial Aviation Services, has teamed with audio expert Bose Corporation to provide automatic audio warnings as part of its flight information solution for private pilots flying under visual flight rules -- Mobile FliteDeck VFR.

Audio warning functionality continues Jeppesen's platform of data-driven, or real-time, presentation of flight information for pilots. Pilots are able to connect their Bose[R] A20[R] Aviation Headsets to the Mobile FliteDeck VFR app via Bluetooth and receive real-time critical airspace and waypoint audio warnings.

Pilots flying in or near controlled airspace receive both visual and audio warnings ensuring airspace awareness. Unique sound and spoken word "airspace" warnings alert pilots to current airspace. If the pilot has defined route waypoints entered in Mobile FliteDeck VFR, similar audio and visual alerts are available to warn them in flight. Pilots also are able to choose which audio alerts they would like to receive, providing a personalized experience.

For more than 80 years, Jeppesen has made it possible for pilots and their passengers to safely and efficiently reach their destinations. Today, this pioneering spirit continues as Jeppesen delivers transformative information and optimization solutions to improve the efficiency of air operations around the globe.

Jeppesen is a Boeing subsidiary and part of the Digital Aviation business unit within Boeing Commercial Aviation Services. Boeing offers the industry's largest portfolio of support and services solutions, providing customers a competitive advantage by solving real operational problems, enabling better decisions, maximizing efficiency and improving environmental performance -- intelligent information solutions across the entire aviation ecosystem.

Bose Corporation was founded in 1964 by Dr. Amar G. Bose, then a professor of electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Today, the company is driven by its founding principles, investing in long-term research with one fundamental goal: to develop new technologies with real customer benefits. Bose innovations have spanned decades and industries, creating and transforming categories in audio and beyond. Bose products for the home, in the car, on the go and in public spaces have become iconic, changing the way people listen to music.
