Jenny won't stand for monkeying about in business! CHAMBER HANDOVER: New branch chairman to bring insights as owner manager to bear.
BUSINESSES in the Nuneaton area have a new leader to fight their corner.
Jenny Hooper, who runs Independent Freight Solutions in Hinckley, has been appointed as north Warwickshire branch chairman for Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.
She has been in charge of her own firm for three years after seven years in the freight industry.
She offers a personal import and export service for businesses and will ensure goods that are either coming in or out of the country are packed correctly, have the necessary paperwork and reach their target on time.
Bill Almen, of Nuneaton-based Exitile, stepped down as branch chairman at the annual meeting held at Twycross Zoo and Jenny was seen as the ideal replacement to bat on the side of business in the area.
She said: "I have a very good insight into what it's like to be an owner manager of a company.
"That means I can represent other businesses' needs because I know exactly where they are coming from, as I am in the same position.
"There are plenty of issues facing firms in this area and I am determined to make sure they are brought to the fore and are dealt with.
"I also want to help the Chamber as a whole to make sure we are meeting the needs of local business in north Warwickshire."
