Jen the killer; STAR TO PLAY EVIL NURSE.

ACTRESS Jennifer Ellison looks dressed to kill - but she plays a real killer for her return to British TV screens.

Jennifer, 21, will star in legal drama The Brief as a nurse charged with murdering her patients - like nurse Beverly Allitt (right) did in real life.

And Jennifer has been trying to get inside the mind of "Angel of Death" Allitt, who was jailed for life 12 years ago for killing four children at Grantham hospital, Lincs.

The ex-Brookside star plays a nurse with Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy - the disorder which Allitt was said to suffer from and which made her inflict physical harm on others to gain attention.

Jennifer said: "I found it really upsetting reading and researching all about her. Munchausen's is a disease but I couldn't understand how someone could do the things she did - to me what she did was pure evil."

Jennifer has just finished filming and The Brief will be screened on ITV in May.
