Jeff Naughton, Database Systems Expert, To Join Nimble Technology's Advisory Board.

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 2001

Nimble Technology, Inc., (www.nimble.com) announced that Jeff Naughton, a database systems expert and University of Wisconsin-Madison computer science professor, has joined Nimble's Technology Advisory Board.

Nimble Technology, a Seattle-based software company recently released the Nimble Integration Suite 1.0, an XML-based enterprise data integration platform used to power web services and applications.

Naughton's research in database systems at Princeton and the University of Wisconsin-Madison includes highly respected work in many areas of database system performance and optimization and groundbreaking work in distributed query processing and applying database technologies to the web. Naughton is co-principal investigator of the Niagara Project team. Funded by the National Science Foundation, the Niagara Project has developed software for querying and retrieving XML data. He is also the co-principal investigator at the Data Mining Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Nimble's Technology Advisory Board has provided a sounding board for technical innovation and helped the company focus on the most crucial technical areas. Naughton's extensive knowledge of XML and distributed query optimization will benefit Nimble's ongoing development in these areas.
