Jay Epstien, co-chair of the DLA Piper's US and Global Real Estate practices, was presented with the 2015 Judge Learned Hand Award from the Washington region of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), during a recent dinner in Washington DC.

George Mitchell, former US Senate Majority Leader and chairman Emeritus of DLA Piper, was the keynote speaker for the evening. Senator Mitchell delivered remarks about Epstien and also described how the United States' democratic principles affect world events. Heidi Levine, co-managing partner of DLA Piper's New York office, and Fred Klein, a partner in the firm's real estate practice in Washington, DC were co-chairs of the event, which raised more than $500,000.
