Jason Niness; St. John's High Junior, Backstroke.

Niness finished fourth in the backstroke at the Division 1 state meet. He also competed in the 200 relay with teammates Alex Sullivan, Michael Daring and Ross Oljerholm, which was one of his most memorable moments of the season. The Pioneers' co-captain, along with Sullivan, finished third in the backstroke at the Central/South sectional meet. Niness was named a Catholic Conference All-Star in the backstroke. He also competed in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Niness also competes for Crimson Aquatics and is an NCSA Junior National swimmer. His sister, Mackenzie, is also a standout swimmer for Crimson Aquatics, and for Notre Dame Academy. Niness is an Honor Roll student. He is the son of Pat and Scott Niness of Sutton.
