Japanese technology company ITX sets up office in H.K.

HONG KONG, Feb. 26 Kyodo

ITX E-Globaledge Corp., a Japanese technology solutions provider, said Thursday it has set up a regional office in Hong Kong to tap the market potential in mainland China.

The Hong Kong office, named ITX E-Globaledge Hong Kong & China Ltd., will oversee business operations in the mainland, including the representative office in Shanghai, the Japanese company said.

''China is recognized as the future of the electronics industry, and it is clearly one of our key target markets,'' Tomoaki Yokoyama, president and chief operating officer of ITX E-Globaledge Hong Kong & China, said in a statement.

''The new Hong Kong office will play an important role in our business development in China, especially in the southern Chinese region,'' Yokoyama said.

Established in 1990, ITX E-Globaledge Corp. has an annual turnover of 10.4 billion yen.

The Japanese company provides electronics and networking solutions to corporate customers by integrating technology, development and engineering, marketing and logistics.

It has operations in Japan, the United States, Singapore, the Philippines and China. It also has businesses in London, Seoul, Taipei and Bangkok under its affiliates.
